Local care home presents cheque to local charity

Overslade House care home in Rugby, Warwickshire, recently presented The Benn Partnership Centre with a cheque for £1000 to assist with arts and crafts supplies and activities to help combat loneliness and isolation.  PEAS (People Enjoying Art Socially) is an art and craft group at the Benn Partnership Centre, brought about as a response to a post covid survey carried out in the local area, where the community stated that they wanted more arts and crafts activities to help combat loneliness and isolation.  Benn Partnership are inclusive and open to all in the local area and wider Rugby Borough. They provide a range of arts and crafts activities weekly and do their utmost to try to accommodate everyone, Benn have adapted equipment for people with disabilities. Benn are supported by volunteers who support the community members. The sessions are FREE to the community and they only ask for a small donation for refreshments if people are able to donate. Benn realise how important being social and feeling part of the local community is so try to be as welcoming as possible, numbers are growing which they are delighted at. Staff are also able to signpost people who attend to other services in the community or support with form filling or help them access health appointments if needed. Benn run all year round except bank holidays.
